Your Boat Club is hiring an Assistant Location Manager to oversee our rental, dock facilities, operations, and fleet management of boats, pontoons, side-by-sides, etc., at our Lake Vermilion location. The Assistant Manager for this location will not only assist in day-to-day operations regarding members, rentals, docks, and transient slips, as well as staffing, training, and scheduling of dockhands, but also work closely with our service department. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service to enable our customers to enjoy the best experience in the area. The Assistant Manager will also work with area businesses as needed to build relationships and partnerships. Candidates must also be available on call and on weekends to ensure smooth operations during peak times.

*This is a full-time, seasonal position, which typically runs through late October. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leading the team of employees in providing excellent customer service. 
  • Uphold and implement safety regulations covering boating, water, trails, and more.
  • Maintain boats in a clean, organized state, in line with company standards.
  • Assisting members and renters throughout the boating experience, including helping in/out of the boat and loading and unloading the vessel. 
  • Rental and Member check-in/out processing, including gassing and inspecting for damages.
  • Assist with scheduling the dock staff for your location. 
  • Assist with managing our Polaris fleet.
  • Oversee area fleet deliveries and transportation (included, but not limited to, Tower/Lake Vermilion and Ely areas).
  • Overseeing inventory, retail space, and displays.
  • Overseeing financial reporting, POS systems, drops, and counts.
  • Work closely with the Service Department to assist where needed, such as scheduling, work orders/flows, part management and ordering, etc.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • 1-3 years of boating and/or marina management.
  • 1-3 years of staff management, including hiring and training.
  • Prior knowledge about the area, trail system(s), body of water, etc., is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage downtime duties.
Compensation:
This position starts at $17.00 an hour and will vary based on experience.
